Local Stories to Inspire You For Your Jacksonville, FL Wedding
Taylor & Josh, March 23, 2012 (A Beach Themed Jacksonville Wedding)
The Proposal: Josh’s proposal happened when we were on vacation in San Francisco. It was around our one year anniversary and I could tell something was up because he is normally so relaxed, but the whole vacation he was a little on edge. I got an even better idea when his brother kept calling and all Josh was saying was “not yet” every time he called. That was a pretty big spoiler!
Well, we got to the last day and no proposal, so I just assumed it wasn’t going to happen because we were getting ready to leave. Then I found a note on the nightstand that said, “Will you marry me?” I walked around the corner and there stood Josh with the ring in his hand. He asked if I would and I said yes, (I think) and the whole flight home I was already making plans!
The bride, Taylor, says this, “On the day, take it all in because it really flies by. That is cliché’ but so true! We waited one day to go on our honeymoon and we are so glad we did because it gave us an extra day to spend with family and friends. We were so tired anyway so it wouldn’t have been fun traveling. I highly recommend taking the day after the wedding to relax.” This is a very popular way to plan, and seems to be the direction Jacksonville brides are moving in!
Fine details and inspiration from the ocean was the theme for this Jacksonville Florida wedding couple. A beautiful ceremony and reception at Casa Marina Hotel in Jacksonville Beach is the perfect place to host your memorable moment with a beach-themed atmosphere and a strong touch of class and history. There are several Jacksonville wedding services that will help you plan the perfect event wherever you decide to host your Jacksonville wedding.
On behalf of the staff of Jacksonville Wedding Styles Online Magazine, we want to again congratulate Taylor and Josh on a beautiful Jacksonville wedding, and thank them for being a part of our Jacksonville Florida wedding blogs!

“These events routinely offer local brides more than most. If you’re planning to attend a bridal show or two, let the Bridal Fantasy Events at Sawgrass Marriott be one of your choices!”
This past January’s event was appropriately named “Love You in Lace” for its décor. It was a lively, entertaining, and a beneficial Jacksonville bridal show for all brides looking for the latest trends and ideas to help their Jacksonville Fl wedding planning endeavors and stay on budget. Brides and guests from all over the state poured into the ballroom to watch the event … but a separate party ensued backstage!
From edgy and avant-garde, to elegant and classic, each dress was chosen specifically for the models to coincide with the bridal image they were intending to portray on the runway. The varieties of designs were aimed to please the differing opinions and tastes of the brides in the audience. Every detail was precisely measured all the way down to the very last seam and bobby pin.
Prior to hitting the runway, and as the line-up was underway, the finishing touches commenced. Flower bouquets by Dan Hathcock were dispersed among the models, and the last application of lipstick was applied with precision. The stylists’ aim was to flawlessly assemble the models, so that brides-to-be could envision their Jacksonville Fl wedding with these exact pieces, all which can be found locally!
The nonstop energy and positive enthusiasm filling backstage overshadowed the chaos and race to beat the clock. Upon completion of the event, The 2013 Ultimate Bridal Fantasy earned rave reviews and recognition, which made each, fasten of every button (on what seemed like hundreds of dresses) completely worth it! It’s a must-see Jacksonville bridal show for all brides-to-be, and fashionistas too!

Theme Inspiration For Your Jacksonville Fl Wedding: Whether it’s pretty in peacock, beachey blues, or passionate pink pansies, it seems to be all about the theme.
Jacksonville Florida weddings are becoming more elaborate each year with theatric themes and crafty colors! However, brides just getting started often pose the question, “how do I find all those great tips and tricks that melt perfectly with my special theme so I can make it an event to remember?”
Tanya Hendricks of Southern Charm Wedding and Events is a master at coming up with the perfect plan and creating memorable moments to bring your ideas and themes to life. “The biggest thing to keep in mind when planning a themed wedding is to try to bring your colors and your theme into each element of the planning,” Tanya says, “Let each detail show who you are and what your dream day is all about. But on the flip side, you do not want to make your theme overwhelming or unconvincing. Pick a few important details and show them with pride.”
So, brides, be true to your theme, and think about ways to keep your theme going throughout the entire ceremony and even into the reception. From the seasonal details, to the mood music, and even the meal, it all has to flow in a special way, and most importantly, mix together in the spirit you are trying to portray to your guests. “By adding something as simple as a customized entry sign or monogrammed dance floor logo, you can add a signature look in no time,” Tanya comments, “ and if you have spent the last year creating special items and décor for your ceremony and reception, you will certainly want to make sure they are out for your guests to see!”
If you have yet to hire a wedding planner to help you out, you may want to look into hiring a planner or wedding coordinator for the day of activities to assist you with pulling all your final details together. There are several wonderful Jacksonville wedding services to chose from and having a planner or coordinator is a wonderful option for many brides wanting the best for their Jacksonville, Florida wedding.

Jacksonville Fl Wedding: For busy brides, planning time for your wedding is just too short at times to sweat the small stuff. However, getting ready for friends, family, and out-of-town guests are challenges many brides have to deal with at some point but often don’t think of until it is too late.
I remember as a bride thinking the last thing I wanted to deal with the week before my wedding was making sure the house was cleaned, in order, and rooms freshly painted for potential guests.
I had enough on my plate with planning my special event and of course the final touches to the gown and accessories! But, none-the-less, that oh-so-not-nice feeling came over me a few short days before the wedding. The house needed cleaning, rooms needed painting, and a few small areas needed to be fixed.
Unfortunately, this is a common scenario for so many. I will be the first to say that these small home improvement details will creep up on you at the worst possible time.
In addition, no one wants to leave home for their honeymoon when the house is a mess, and of course, you will want to show off your humble abode to guests that remained or are still in town when you get back!
Think of this practical exercise now and not wait until after-the-fact to consider like so many others!
In the following clip there are some great tips to get started early on all of those last minute details so you can relax and enjoy your pre, post, and wedding day activities!
Ben Aponte, from Northeast Florida Home Improvements, is a professional that can help you accomplish your goals quick and easy. It’s all about hiring the right people, at the right price, that will ensure the job is done correctly without getting in the way of your busy schedule.
If you’re juggling many things in the days and weekends leading up to your wedding, or that important guest is coming for the big family wedding weekend, be sure to check out Ben’s painting, handyman, and cleaning services!
Ben is offering a special price for those referred by this article! Northeast Florida Home Improvement is a great one-stop shop for everyone, and certainly a great idea to think about ahead of time!
Decisions on your home are certainly worth a lifetime too!
The Proposal: Three years after Jason and I started dating, we took a trip to Tampa with our friends. While we were there, the four of us saw a concert and spent some time relaxing on St. Pete Beach. One afternoon I was tired and decided to take a nap while the guys stayed on the beach.
When I woke up from my nap, Jason had brought me several shells he collected on the beach. That night after finishing dinner, Jason and I decided to go for a walk on the beach. When the sun was almost set, Jason turned to me and said, “I have another shell I haven’t given you yet because it’s kind of special.” He then reached into his pocket, and handed me a home-made clam shell! I opened it up, and there was a beautiful three stone engagement ring inside! Jason dropped down to one knee and said, “Kandis Laree, will you marry me?” Of course, I said yes!
This wonderful Jacksonville Fl wedding couple decided to use the local wedding planner, Lauren Jarvis. “She had some amazing ideas and definitely helped keep my stress levels low,” says our Jacksonville bride, Kandis …
What’s In your Theme? And, this plays into the popular idea of hosting a theme into your wedding. Not only does having a theme make your Jacksonville wedding easy and fun to plan, but this couple even incorporated their heritage into the theme of their Jacksonville wedding! “Incorporating our Irish heritage into our St. Patrick’s day wedding was a wonderful experience,” Kandis comments, “My great grand-mother was from County Cork so, when planning out the big day we took every opportunity to mix in her old traditions in with the new ones! For example, corn beef and cabbage for one of our main dishes and a potato bar available to our guests!”
Whatever the theme, or grand idea, be sure to make it special, and make it your own! On behalf of the staff of Jacksonville Wedding Styles Online Magazine, we want to again congratulate Kandis and Jason on a beautiful Jacksonville wedding, and thank them for being a part of our Jacksonville Florida wedding blog!

My plans were to meet my Prince Charming at the altar by arriving to the ceremony in a horse-drawn Cinderella Carriage. Due to mother-nature the ceremony had to be moved to an indoor setting at the Wyndham and we were unable to use Cinderella’s carriage. Tanya’s husband, and her girls with the help of Rachel Ely and her staff for drying chairs and loading them up to set them up at the Wyndham within an hour.
The ceremony was beautiful. Thanks to Pastor Tatem for stepping in at the last minute to perform the ceremony. We had a rose ceremony, uniting the two families, my family had red roses, Josh’s family had white roses and Josh and I united the two colors with pink roses.
After the ceremony the guests were escorted to the cocktail hour where finger foods and beverages were served. During the cocktail hour, we viewed the ballroom for the first time to see it in full. It was beautifully decorated with flower arrangements in all sizes on each table as well as some little extras to add to the Cinderella theme.
Rachel from Blossoms & Accents created all the beautiful flower arrangements and all the little extra touches. Also viewed at that time were the cakes. Metro Custom Cakes did a wonderful job on the wedding cake. Also, the groom’s cake (UGA) was so life like; Josh loved it.
In case you missed it, half the hit was when the girls showed off what was under their dresses!
That’s right… with a little hike of the dress and a pose at the end of the runway revealed a completely customized pair of crystal shoes that wowed the audience!
Amanda Whitworth, of Crystal Addiction, can fully customize any pair of shoes with real Swarovski crystals and pearls, giving each heel a high like no other! This certainly adds a powerful pop to your Jacksonville wedding or honeymoon attire. And, ladies, if you don’t have a pair of crystal heels in your closet, now’s the time to bring on the bling.

We planned the wedding in just three months. We had to make quick decisions on everything. Despite the stress, it turned out beautifully in the end. Even the weather cooperated! We had a warm wedding day in January! We are really happy with all of our vendors especially our photographer!
We had two ceremonies. The first was a Hindu Ceremony. It was beautiful and colorful. Our priest did a really good job of explaining the traditions and rituals. The second ceremony was the Christian Ceremony. It was very serene and beautiful. The pastor did an excellent job guiding us and making sure we say the right things. Our reception was awesome. All of the guests were on the floor dancing. Even my dad did an impromptu karaoke.
